EVERYTHING Is Political!

I’ve been wrestling with a concept for some time that I wanted to share with you. That concept being the whine about “hating politics” and then a clumsy explanation of “what constitues an issue being ‘political’ “. Your local media left-wing toadies, of course, define “Politics = anything those eeeevil Republicans yell about”.

Rather than me try to elucidate this, today I’m turning over this hallowed website to a fellow provocateur of some renown. This is a first for AgentPierceSaid. It’s a bit longer than usual…. but worth the extra few minutes it will take you. Enjoy…..

2010 Miss America Pageant Judges News ConferenceFYI: Rush LImbaugh is a radio talk show host. The guy is pretty good and you might want to check him out. He’s on Noon-3 Mon-Fri. You better hurry though. The left-wing media toadies say he’s too controversial and “he’ll never last”. Oh…. Rush celebrated its 26th year on-air this week as THE MOST LISTENED TO RADIO TALK SHOW IN HISTORY. Bwahahaha…..

Everything is Political!
August 05, 2014

RUSH: Look, I want to make this point again because I really think I’m onto something here. I think it is a profundity. Young people, low-information people, are the ones who claim to hate politics. They don’t like it. They don’t like the arguing, right? The 25-year-old girls, they don’t like loud voices. It all makes ’em nervous. They don’t like it. “Can’t we just all get along? Why do we have to argue about everything?” They hate politics. They do not understand how everything they are exposed to is political.

They don’t like politics, and so therefore the only people to them who are political are Republicans. The Republicans are the ones who are political. Obama is not political. You see, global warming isn’t political, that’s science. It’s the Republicans that are making it political. The Democrats are just trying to save the planet, the polar bears and all that. They do not see that the people moving all of these destructive issues, forcing them on our culture are political. They only see the opposition to it as political, and they hate politics, they say.

This is why I sit here constantly and fret over the fact that we need to get more people to be able to see the politics in everything. Because this is it, in a nutshell. These low-information people, all these people on social media, they claim they hate politics, they tune off it, the bickering, the arguing, don’t like it, have no idea how everything they’re consuming is presented to them for the purposes of advancing a political agenda. To them, politics is what happens in Washington. And Obama, he’s not political. He’s trying to save poor people. He’s trying to help poor people around the world. He’s trying to stop the global warming.

Football is political now. That’s one of the reasons why I’m not so hip to it anymore. Football is political. From pink October to the Redskins name change. There are now demands, because this Ray Rice business, there are sportswriters demanding that there be a new collective bargaining agreement done with domestic abuse as an officially sanctioned penalty that the NFL has a policy to deal with, because Goodell wasn’t tough enough on Ray Rice.

Now, the low-information, they don’t see that as political. They see that as, “Well, spousal abuse, who’s in favor of that? Nobody.” And anybody who opposes this is the political people. It’s gonna be a major task. It has been.

RUSH: Now, I asked a question at the top of the busy broadcast hour, the last hour, using one of the themes that I have profoundly developed today that politics is part of everything happening in America today. From the culture, to actual government-style politics, everything’s political.

However, the low-information crowd and young people, they run around saying, “I hate politics! I don’t like it. Nobody out there tells the truth. All anybody does is argue; they never solve anything.” They have no idea how everything they are bombarded with out there is political. Everything at Twitter, Facebook, it’s all political. Google is political. Everything’s political. Movies, television shows, it’s all political.

Yet they don’t think it is. Global warming? Totally political. They think it’s science. Only the people who disagree with it are political. Those are the Republicans, they think, and they hate “politics.” Therefore they hate the Republicans, and therefore the only people who are “political” are the Republicans. “The Democrats? They’re just interested in helping people.” This is how it works.

This is why I’ve got this madcap desire to have everybody, as many as possible, understand the politics of everything they’re hit with. Okay, so Ebola. We shared with you a couple of Facebook posts yesterday that were laced with obscenities about what you should do regarding Ebola, and basically it was, “Screw it! It’s no big deal. You don’t have anything to worry about.

“If you don’t have it, you’re not gonna get it, so don’t worry about it.” There’s been an actual mean-spiritedness attached to people who are opposing being concerned about Ebola. Now the question, therefore, is: Why, to people…? Well, I’ll not characterize them right now. Why is Ebola political? Why is you being concerned about Ebola making people mad? What is the politics? ‘Cause I’ll guarantee you, it’s all political.

RUSH: So what in the world has got the left so ticked off about people being concerned about Ebola? It’s political, make no mistake, therefore, what is the politics of this?

This, Snerdley, may be the way to do this. Rather than just do what I’ve been doing for 25 years, take whatever the event is, I don’t care, pop culture event, whatever, and say, “Okay, what is the politics? What’s driving this?” You know, because global warming is a great example. To the young people that believe it, to the low-information crowd that believe it, to them it’s science. The people politicizing it are the Republicans who are opposing it. Therefore they’re anti-science, that means they’re just political and they’re not willing to listen to science. These are the same people that say they hate politics and do not know they’re being bombarded. In fact they don’t know that 90% of what they believe is due to political persuasion. It’s totally escaped ’em, including science has been totally politicized.

Science is nothing but a branch office of the Democrat Party now. And this is a mission of mine, is to somehow in my one possible little way here, this tiny little radio program with so much else out there, but I really have thought for the longest time that if we’re really going to affect massive changing of minds, there are some basics that have to happen first. And one of the basics is that people who claim to hate politics and therefore don’t want any part of it, and therefore automatically reject anybody they think is political, are gonna have to be taught and convinced that everything, the vast majority things is political and how to spot it.

The left has been extremely artful in convincing everybody, particularly the low-information crowd, that there is not politics in anything. All there is is compassion, equality, freedom, love, what have you. It’s all political. And they don’t see it.

RUSH: Back to the phones we go, and it’s another female that we have on the phones, this is Jill in St. Louis. It’s great to have you on the program. Hi, Jill.

CALLER: Oh, hi, Rush. I’m a Rush Babe.

RUSH: Well, it’s great to have you here.

CALLER: I’m also a Rush Baby. You’ve really made my day with your discussion about politics being in everything, ’cause I never understood people’s views of politics. It’s really one of my pet peeves, and full disclosure: I’m 39, and I started watching your TV show back in the nineties.

RUSH: Oh!

CALLER: I credit you for helping me get through that college period where I attended an uber-liberal arts, fine arts school.

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: So I got all of the socialist professors and all that, but I came out on the other side thanks to you and my husband. (sigh) So what bothers me is people have this incorrect view of politics, and they say things like, you know, “Let’s get the politics out of Washington,” which obviously doesn’t make any sense. They always talk about politics being mean and dirty, and I get so irritated.

I always tell my husband, “Politics is politics is politics.” You know, it is what it is, and it always has been. People have killed each other over politics when they had the duels, and I’ve always looked at it as… You know, it’s like a chess game where you just expose the other person’s weaknesses. It’s not always pretty, but I think it’s just, you know, kind of part the participation in America.

RUSH: Well, I think you’re on to something. Politics is its own business, and saying we gotta get the politics out of it something? Democrats have convinced a lot of people that they are not political. This is the thing that… I realized this I don’t know how long ago, but it’s a very long time ago. When I hear young people or anybody, say, “You know, I wish they’d stop arguing.

“I don’t want to hear about politics,” they have no idea how much of their world is politicized. They have no idea how much political influence is being used on them. Yet they believe that they aren’t involved in politics, that they’re apolitical, and that the only people who are “political” are the Republicans. “The Democrats’ motives are pure, they’re just trying to help people, but it’s the Republicans are always trying to stop them!

“They’re always arguing. The Republicans are never cooperating, never getting along.” For example, they don’t see global warming as a political thing; they see it as “science” and just trying to save the planet. And since they hate politics, they hate anybody who stands in the way of doing good things in the era of science. It’s been a frustrating thing to me to encounter it so much, because the key to having everybody understand who the Democrats are is to get them to be able to see just how political they are and what their politics is.

CALLER: Yeah. I don’t understand when people complain about politics. I just wish that they would take it and see it for what it is. Medicine tastes bad, you know? But it is what it is. It’s medicine. So there’s some of us who would like to get into political arena, but my goodness, if you were to ever mention that, you’d be looked upon like a pariah.

RUSH: Well, your motives would be questioned. You’d immediately be suspected of something among the people we’re talking about. If you told ’em you wanted to get into politics, they would suspect you of something, because to them it’s dirty. “It’s dishonest. It’s just extreme and it’s arguing all the time. It’s never compromising, never getting along with anybody, constant bickering. We hate it.”

What they don’t understand is politics is really not about the art of compromise. Politics is about winning and losing, like everything else in life. You know, you compromise with a family member. Maybe you have to have to compromise with the boss or whatever. But politics, it’s about defeating. The things that you stand for in politics are core, principled beliefs, and you don’t compromise those.

You try to beat back the things trying to destroy what you believe in. Politics is not about compromise. See, that’s another thing. The left has really succeeded in convincing all these low-information people that all politics is is compromise. “The Democrats, Obama just want to compromise, but, damn it, these Republicans just gotta stop the hatin’! They just gotta stop the hatin’!” They’re the architects of it.

Jill, I appreciate the call. I really do. It’s very, very insightful, and I’m happy to have you in the audience.
