Both Sports and Politics are fraught with Foolishness.  Of the two;
Politics does affect our lives; while Sports, thankfully, only affects our egos.

In The End The Monkeys Win.... sigh.

July 23,’14:   Since last I took to this bully pulpit (gee, how long has it been?), I enjoyed a stimulating lunch dialogue with “a very well-known sports celebrity”.   Our several hours’ conversation wandered over many subjects of major and minor significance.   No startling conclusions were reached, but we laughed a lot over absurdum that seems to never end.... it gets worser and worser.

Only “politics” can rival “sports” for daily evidence that Charlie Darwin’s theory had it bass-ackwards.   The original Planet Of The Apes premise had it right regarding societal evolution.    In the End the Monkeys Win.

The Week That Was In "The Southern Part of Hell"

July 13,’14:   If this planet was still revolving around the sun as Galileo intended it to do, we would talk about LeBron going back to Cleveland.  IMO THE coolest thing ever in the NBA since Bob Cousey invented the no-look pass..... but in this post-Marvin Tweet Apocalypse World we can’t do that.   Nooooo.....

Last week had seven days that ended in “y” so you know there was more plum foolishness abubblin’ up outta “The Southern Part of Hell”.....

Nobody cares about all the safe landings.

July 8,’14:   Contrary to the current mantra of the ABC Short-Bus faction, the vast majority of UNC FB & Bkball student-athletes who have matriculated over the past 50+ years did so without “special help" from Deborah, Julius, Wayne, Burgess, Jennifer et al.   They subsequently parlayed said unassisted matriculation into productive contributions to family and community.  That said.....

No one cares how many safe landings occur at RDU Airport.   “Safe landings” are what is expected at RDU and at airports near Tuscaloosa, Tallahassee, Auburn, Columbus, Gainesville etc etc.  It’s the crashes that draw the media spotlight.

AP: CostCo throws AMERICA in da briar patch

July 7;'14:  As soon as I saw this story I yelled THANK YOU CostCo.... and Zippa De Doo Daa.

If you recall Uncle Remus (before he got PCed out-of-existence) you remember B'rer Rabbit & The Briar Patch.   Wily ol' B'rer Rabbit cajoled B'rer Bear & B'rer Fox to throw him in da briar patch pleading "Please don't throw me in dat briar patch" which, in reality, is exactly what he wanted them to do.....

So be it with the Obama-lovin' owners at CostCo who have banned D'Souza's book AMERICA from their stores.  What better recommendation to buy it than Obama's buddies are afraid for you to read it.  Stalin & Lenin did it with The Bible.

There are plenty of places you can get the book.   There are also several other buying club stores you can shop at other than CostCo.

AP: That D'Souza Movie - AMERICA...... - Oh Boy !!

July 4,’14:  I have seen the new Dinesh D’Souza Movie – America, Imagine The World Without Her.   I saw it on the 4th of July.   It was an early showing.  I scanned the ¾ filled theater.  I did NOT see Jim & Barbara Goodmon, Bully Barber, Rob RielleWho, Gene Nichol, Chris Fitzsimons or any of the other local beady-eyed left-wing weasels.  I’m not holding my breath that “they” will see it. ......

One of many reasons I recommend YOU should.

My Obligatory Soccer Column 2.0

July 3,’14:  So I get this email from The Grand Wizard of Websites (TGWoW) reminding me that, to stay certified, I HAVE TO write a column about “soccer”.   I reminded TGWoW that I had discussed “soccer” several weeks ago.   TGWoW said “That’s not enough.  You have to do a definitive essay on “soccer” that can be included in the Grand Archives of All Essays About Soccer circa 2014.”

I said fine, thinking it might be nice to write a column that does not mention Wainstein, “Dickie”, Little Carol, and “how many ABCers does it take to tear down a rafter?”  So, here goes.....

My overriding premise is that, like Caesar’s Gaul, attitudes about soccer are.....

AP: Why Blondie Loves America....

July 3,'14:  Christmas has "Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus".   If 3-4 years starts a similar trend, then "Why Blondie Loves America" is our annual Official 4th Of July column.

Blondie is (1) Mrs BobLee and (2) proud mother of "Kid" and (3) the fire-breathingest, flag wavingest gal that ever "shot the bird" at Obama when his slimey lyin' mug pops up on TV.  FWIW.... you don't want to know what she thinks about MoochelleMyBelle.

Here's how all this got started per Blondie herownself......  My friend, Jerry Agar wanted to do a segment on his old NY show back in 2007, Why I Love America, and asked me to contribute to the list. Here is what he used on his show.  Happy Independence Day!!

Monday was a REALLY Bad Day for ......

June 30:  Monday was a REALLY Bad day for fans of Obamacare AND Flagships.   I celebrated the SCOTUS decision with AgentPierce in the morning, then hurried off to another “Power Lunch" at, believe it or not, AMEDEO’s.

My iPhone started vibrating around 2:30..... when I got around to checking it, there were already dozens of TruBlues poised on ledges ready to jump.  The Brickyard celebration is tentatively set for 8 PM.   Celebrants are asked to BYO sparklers and bottle rockets.

First question..... will the NCAA goons stay at the toney Siena or an Extended Stay facility.   If it’s the latter ...... double Uh Oh.
