AP: Aw Shucks Dumplin'; t'weren't nuthin

Jan 19, ’13:  The tangible rewards for an Internet provocateur are nice (.....being threatened, called really nasty names and having one’s mamma cyber-defiled) but the real home-run for my ilk is to be credited with mortally wounding the self-righteous, overly pious, faux-intellectual snoots and snootettes of the Lib/Dem political gang.  On Thursday past, former Governor Dumplin’ Perdue paid me such a high compliment. .... Aw shucks Dumplin’.  Tweren’t nuthin’.

"Sports' Parallel Universe Part II": I told you so.

Jan 17, ’13:  As if I needed to further prove my incredibly insightful theory on sport’s “real playing field” – the parallel cyber-universe where sports now takes place (as well as politics, international banking, romance and pretty much everything).   This one isn’t 24 hours old so goodness knows where it will be in another 24.  Check with your personal Nigerian banker just in case. ...... Will the new verb be “being Manti-ed” or “being Te’o-ed”?

A Weekend of Thrills & Agony

Jan 15, ’13:  It doesn’t have its own catchphrase name (yet), which sort of adds to its cache.  The second round of the NFL Playoffs has become a very manageable weekend for excellent sports TVing.  Two out of four were certified humdingers for the ages.  PLUS; there was a court stampede at AlphabetArena.... and The Annual Night of UstaBees down in Goldsboro.

Sports' #1 Playing Field is.....

Jan 10, ’13:  What is the #1 Playing Field in Sports circa 2013?   Yankee Stadium??  Cameron Indoor??  Fenway??  MSG??  TheRoseBowl??  TheSuperDome??  AugustaNational??  Nope to all the above and to any other bricks, mortar, turf and/or hardwood you might suggest. ..... The #1 Playing Field in Sports today is right in front of you – your computer monitor and “the Internet”.

AP: The Hobson's Choice of Liberal Media

Jan 9, ’13:  I rail often about the overt partisan Hobson’s Choice reporting by the “mainstream” media across NC, especially in the Triangle-area.  I have zero respect for the reporters and editors of McClatchy’s N&O and CharlotteObserver newspapers and for Jim Goodmon’s Capitol Broadcasting Co. (WRAL-TV5).  They have turned partisan rumor-mongering and rampant hypocrisy into a profession. ...... But I would NEVER advocate a boycott of them or of their advertisers. .......

To The Accumulation of Characters

Jan 7, ’13:  Character is one of those euphemistic buzzwords that is thrown around a lot.  It’s a well-worn favorite of preachers, coaches, scoutmasters, politicians and self-help gurus.  One better “have it” if one wants to amount to anything..... “they” say.  Describing what “it” is gets murky.  I prefer Character as a Who rather than a What. .... I lost one this weekend.   Lucky for me I have plenty of others. .......

AP: "DUCK PAT!" The 24/7 Media Assault Begins!

Jan 6, ’13:  The NoMo Dumplin’ Era in North Carolina officially began over the weekend.  The bottled blond darling of the local journo-rats has flown the coop to wherever babbling bimbos go – being a flight attendant for BuzzyAir out of New Bern is our guess.  ByBy Bev and Hello PatMc. The first NC Guv from The Great State of Mecklenburg since...... ever.  LOOK OUT PAT – INCOMING !!!!

(Almost) Bowled Over

Jan 4, ’13:   My “can I do it” goal is within sight.  Can I navigate an entire bowl season without watching more than “a half” of any one game?  By golly I think I can.  A tougher challenge would be reciting the names of every fired NFL coach while standing on one foot and holding a lighted match...... Speaking of GREAT books – I found another one (that AgentPierce HAS to read!).......
