Dec 28, ’12:  North Carolina’s Official (Bottle) Blond Joke – Bev “Dumplin” Perdue called a press conference earlier this week to declare herself THE Greatest Female Governor in North Carolina’s history.   “I’ve done a Great Job” Dumplin’ declared but (as she often does) neglected to remind the handful of dead-eyed media sycophants on-hand that she is also THE Most Unpopular Governor of any gender in North Carolina history.  Bevie-poo is, of course, the ONLY female Governor in North Carolina history. ......

Dec 24, '12:   Christmas is an aromatic season … cedar trees, cookies baking in the oven, crackling fireplaces, and that special smell of a brand new baseball glove! ..I was doing some almost last minute shopping and wandered into a local Dick’s Sporting Goods. ..As I wandered thru the various departments, lo and behold, this  Christmas column magically appeared. ..Christmas and sporting goods forever linked in a child’s memory..... Dec 20, ’12:  What do Pippa Middleton, Serge Zwikker and Tami Hansbrough have in common?  They were about the only high profile celebrities NOT in attendance at the formal presentation of The Martin Report earlier today.  ‘Twas a “isn’t that so&so?” buzz throughout the room as the clock moved closer to 10:00 AM..... Then “Lady Liberty” Crowder and Uncle Julius became the focus of attention.....

Dec 19, '12:   Thursday - Dec 20th at 10:00 AM will be the OFFICIAL presentation of the long-awaited MARTIN REPORT.  BobLee, of course, will be "in the room" with the UNC BOT at The Carolina Inn when the report is presented.  I do not know if Dickie The Putz, BOTBob, The Butcher, Dan Kane or Julius, Jennifer, or Deborah will be there.... but I will be.  I received a VIP invitation.  Is that cool or what!

If the bulldozers are in place to demolition-ize both Kenan and Dean's Dome, I will try and get pictures.  If not, anxious ABCers around the world will simply have to wait.  My incredibly insightful analysis will follow later in the day.

Dec 19, ’12:   In the classic movie western “Shane”, a young Brandon de Wilde implores Alan Ladd’s Shane to “Come Back.... Come Back Shane!”   But the iconic gunfighter knew his job was done and ‘twas time for him to ride off into the sunset.

‘Tis time too for this iconic cyber smart aleck to depart McClatchyLand.  AgentPierce has left the comment board mosh pit of The N&O.  How Come?... Who will thwart the forces of journo-evil? “Come Back AP... Come Back!" .....

Dec 18,'12: Sometimes you just look at a civic boondoggle and laugh to keep from crying.  You roll your eyes and say “..... and what numbnutz came up with this boffo idea?” – The City of Durham (don’t laugh yet!) constructed a jogging trail thru one of Durham’s more notorious crime-ridden neighborhoods – and Guess What? – it has become “like a waterhole in the Serengeti” aka attracting a steady supply of naïve Nike-shod prey for the neighborhood predators. ........

Dec 15, ’12:  To paraphrase that infamous political operative Rahm Emanuel - “Never let a good (crisis) tragedy go to waste”.  Rahm was reminding his Lib/Democ foot soldiers in their War on America that, regardless of the abject horror of any situation, there is always some political advantage to be gained.
   Well I guess “poor taste is better than no taste at all”.  Rahm’s media sycophants (aka "Tragedy Profiteers") listened and learned.
