Carolina Journal’s intrepid Don “Kolchak” Carrington is a veritable Van Helsing to NC’s spider’s nest of Left-wing blood-sucking evil-doers, flim flamers and scallywags. Well, he just DID IT AGAIN!

“Van Helsing” is history’s most celebrated vampire hunter. Hugh Jackman played him in a movie of the same name. His first name was “Abraham”. Bet you didn’t know that. Dracula and his bloodsucking minions were forever fleeing from Van Helsing and for good reason. He was relentless in his pursuit of The Devil’s disciples. “Relentless” describes Don Carrington for sure.
In literature Van Helsing is described as….. a seemingly arbitrary man, this is because he knows what he is talking about better than any one else. He is a philosopher and a metaphysician, and one of the most advanced scientists of his day, and he has, I believe, an absolutely open mind. This, with an iron nerve, a temper of the ice-brook, and indomitable resolution, self-command, and toleration exalted from virtues to blessings, and the kindliest and truest heart that beats, these form his equipment for the noble work that he is doing for mankind, work both in theory and practice, for his views are as wide as his all-embracing sympathy.
…… a quite apt description of our real-life hero – Don Carrington.
To be fair, I have also described NC Brd of Elections’ “Kick-Butt” Kim Strach as a modern day “Van Helsing”. Both Kim and Don scare the crap outta Lib/Dem evil-doers…. qualifying for the very complimentary appellate.
“Kolchak The Night Stalker” was a short-lived TV series in 1974-75 starring Darren McGavin as intrepid Chicago newspaper reporter – Carl Kolchak. He investigated mysterious crimes with unlikely causes, particularly those that law enforcement authorities would not follow up.
Armed with his trusty reporter’s notebook, Kodak camera, and raggedity straw hat, Kolchak was forever encountering nasty supernatural weirdos and assorted nightmarish creatures…. pretty much of the same yucky ilk as the liberal lunatics and demented Democrats that our New Millenium “Kolchak” – Don Carrington – keeps tangling with…. and dragging out into the harsh light of Truth.
With Don Carrington…. it’s not so much “law enforcement authorities” that won’t follow up as it is left-wing “mainstream” media (cough, cough, burp). Don goes after the corrupt political no-goods that WRAL’s Jim Goodmons and McClatchy’s Orage Quarles tell their reporters to “protect at all costs”. Wonder how come that is ????
I will go so far as to say: Without the diligent relentless efforts of Don Carrington, North Carolina would likely still be imprisoned in the iron fist of multi-decades of corrupt Democrat tyranny. No one has done more to expose Liberal Democrat corruption over the past twenty years than Don Carrington.
Don Carrington is a For-Real “investigative reporter”. He is a card-carrying member of the For Real Investigative Reporter Association, attends the FRIRA annual convention and everything. He’s even been awarded a few plaques by the FRIRA. I’ve seen’em.
What passes for modern day “mainstream journalism” is populated by a bevy of so-called “wannabee investigative reporters” aka junior-grade Woodward & Bernsteins. Little W&Bers dreaming of having their own “Deep Throat”, exposing evil-doers, saving a grateful nation, and maybe being invited on The View.
Alas, 98% of these dim-witted dolts can’t figure how to turn on their tape recorders. Their idea of investigative reporting is to (1) sit in a cubicle, (2) troll Facebook and Twitter with their iPhone 5s for some salacious anonymous “tweets” then (3) take those tweets to their editors as “a hot lead from one of my CIs”. “CI” is cub reporter lingo for “confidential informant”.
Then there is Don “Kolchak” Carrington of Carolina Journal. Is Don “old-school”? No, even better…. Don wrote the freakin’ book that the “old-school” uses as their definitive text for “investigative reporting”.
Don actually “works the phones”….. “digs thru musty old records”…. “Finagles his way past gate-keepers”….. “Blows up press conferences with THE question no one else will ask”….. and, I do believe, has actually “hidden behind a potted palm in a hotel lobby” on “a stake-out”. I will leave out the part about endless cups of stale coffee in Styrofoam cups and slices of cold pizza. You get the picture. ….. Oh, AND Don is a GrandMaster “Skydiver” Extraordinaire with like a bazillion successful jumps. ….. “Danger” isn’t just Kolchak’s occupation. It’s also his hobby too.
Speaking of airplanes….. it was “Kolchak in a Cessna” who gave the world their first glimpse of Reille’s Boy Toy – Johnny E’s lavish “compound” hidden away in the Orange County woodlands. It can be argued that the resultant global KABOOM from that aerial photo was to Edwards’ demise what Marvin Austin’s tweet was to UNCCH’s never-ending Migraine.
I love imagining Rob Christensen’s expression when he saw Don’s aerial photo exposing “Johnny Boy’s” lavish estate. Rob ReilleWho saw his dream of being President Edwards’ Press Flunky start to fade…..
Don first exposed “Queen Mary” Easely’s sweet-heart deal with McQueen “Howdy Doody” Campbell over at NC State. That one blew up a proud academic institution’s administration.
It was Don who uncovered the many layers of Bev “Dumplin” Perdue’s campaign finance scam involving “Air Buzzy (Stubbs)” down in New Bern.
It was Don who exposed “Sleazy Mike” Easley’s real estate scam at Cannongate.
…. and Micheal Decker and the bag o’ cash from Jim Black in the Salisbury IHOP Men’s Room. I bet you can’t recall that one without giggling. I can’t.
One of my personal faves, because Don & I both had such fun with it, was The Randy Parton Theater Scam in Roanoke Rapids. That was the Gordian Knot of Human Stoopidity. The combined total IQs of all parties involved in that one did not reach double figures. Yes…. a bunch of Dirty Dems in the Old Basnight/Rand Gang were involved.
