With their team off to a very fine start, and with prospects for even more success looming … KERPLUNK / THUD… UNC Head Coaches Larry/Gene now have a NEW Thug-alete Incident to deal with.
Neither one is “a walk-on” – one is a starter – so this could be difficult to “finesse”.

Chapel Hill, N.C. — Two University of North Carolina football players were charged with assault Thursday night and suspended from the team for their role in an incident at a Franklin Street apartment in the wee hours of Oct. 4.
Sophomore cornerback Marvin Lee (M.J.) Stewart Jr., 20, of Arlington, Va. and freshman Michael Hughes, 18, a cornerback from New Bern, are linked to what the incident report describes as a forcible attack.
Two men who lived at 303 E. Franklin Street were punched, one so hard his nose was broken and he was knocked unconscious, according warrants for the players’ arrests.
Stewart was also suspended in 2014 for UNC’s season opener against Liberty due to violating team policy involving an off-field incident during fall training camp. … (Affair de ALoft).
The pair will both miss the team’s game this weekend against Wake Forest, the university said in a press release.
“We have been aware of this situation since the night of the altercation and have been working closely with the University and Chapel Hill Police to gather relevant information,” head coach Larry Fedora said. “We hold our players to a high standard and M.J. and Mike will face the consequences for their involvement.”
Stewart tallied 20 tackles and led the team with three interceptions and four pass breakups. He played in 12 games last season as a true freshman for Carolina and recorded 26 tackles, four pass breakups and two interceptions.
Hughes recorded three tackles and one pass break up in five games for the Tar Heels this season.
